The Ostrich is the largest Bird on Earth. It carries its head more
than two metres above the ground.
Ostriches are not able to fly, but they extremely good runners and could easily overtake a car inside a Town. Their legs are not only good for running, the Ostrich also uses them to defend himself, with the long claws on its toes. Everybody knows the gigantic Ostrich eggs, that can be almost the size of a football. Those eggs are very tasty and if you make scrambled eggs from one, it is enough to feed fifteen or twenty people with. Like with all animals in Africa, one should never forget, that they are wild, like all the others too. |
