Vultures are not what we regard as particularly pretty birds. When you
watch them feeding, their head and neck is often covered in blood. That
is also the reason, why vultures do not have feathers on either head or
neck.
The Birds are very strong and possess razor sharp talons and beaks. The Nubian Vulture, Africa’s largest, has a wingspan of up to two metres, which is almost as wide as a truck. The eyes of a Vulture are excellent. They can spot an animals' carcass from as far as ten kilometers away. |
